NIPR EXECUTIVE PAY COURTESY CALL ON OGUN STATE COMMISSIONER FOR INFORMATION AND STRATEGY

The Ogun State Government has said that it would not renege in its efforts at partnering with relevant professional bodies which share with it the same vision in its efforts at rebuilding the State and propagating its policies.

The State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Chief Adedayo Adeneye, made this known while receiving a delegation of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Ogun State Chapter, which paid him a courtesy visit in his office.

“The Rebuilding Mission of the present administration in the State, led by Senator Ibikunle Amosun CON FCA, requires the support of all and that is why we operate an open door policy where we welcome ideas of professional bodies and private organisations in our bid to revolutionise the State and reposition it .

“There is no gainsaying that the State Government has recorded notable developmental strides in its five cardinal programmes. Ogun is the most industrialised State because it has over 79 industries operating within its boundries. This can be attributed to the improved roads network and infrastructural development recorded so far across the three Senatorial Districts in the State. The State also presently has the highest number of higher institutions of learning. I am happy to inform you that next year February, the State would be 40 years and preparations are in top gear and by March, the State will be organising another Investor’s Forum.” he said .

Adeneye however promised the professional body of a good working relationship because according to him, his ministry serves as Government mouthpiece and public relations has a lot to do with promoting mutual relationship and understanding.

Earlier in his address, Chairman of the Institution in the State, Mr Tope Adaramola appreciated Ogun State Government for the support which NIPR has enjoyed in the past.

Adaramola said the NIPR is a professional body that could greatly complement the government in ensuring the conception and implementation of people-oriented policies that would inch up the image of government adding that there is hardly any policy issue of government that should be devoid of image consideration.

“I want to use this platform to advocate that all Information officers be mandated to be member of NIPR because what Information Officers do is simply PR for Government and not Journalism as wrongly construed”, he said.

While commending the federal government’s giant strides towards eradicating corruption in the Country, the chairman suggested that government at all levels should reintroduce the “War against Indiscipline” crusade across the nation with the “first mandate of re-orientating Nigerians and remolding our warped perspective of life and its values”, adding that professional bodies like the NIPR could be engaged in the mainstream conception and launch of the crusade.

He however, craved the support of the Commissioner to further assist in facilitating a piece of land for the building of the permanent secretariat for the NIPR in the state as government has done for other professional bodies.
