A former National Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ambassador Bamanga Tukur, has said that he narrowly escaped an attempt on his life along the ever busy Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport road.
Tukur who spoke through his Special Assistant on Media, Prince Oliver Okpala, said the ugly incident occurred while the elder statesman was on his way to Owerri via Abuja Airport to receive a doctorate degree award from Federal University of Technology (FUTO), Owerri in Imo State.
He explained that as his convoy, made up of four jeeps, was driving to the airport, Hilux van with tinted glassed emerged and attempted to break into the convoy heading towards Tukur's jeep when his security escort prevented the attempts
