Flaccid Paraplegia from birth trauma (following a difficult breach delivery).
He has a case of Perinatal Asphyxia.
He has not been able to move his two legs from birth due to the pressure that was applied at birth.
His spine is not straight (Scoliosis), and he retains urine and stool. His bladder is also distended because of his damaged nerves.
Though he is now 18months he is unable to sit without support.
According to the mum,the precious baby has been suffering from birth with all these illnesses.
After several medical sessions at LUTH at the Neurology, Nephrology and Urology units and LASUTH, (all with little or no result) I had to fly him to India in April 2015.
He underwent a surgery in SAKET CITY HOSPITAL, NEW DELHI INDIA. He was registered, and seen by Dr. ANAND KUMAR SAXENA (Head of Neurology and Stroke).
My little baby boy still needs URGENT medical attention because he still retains urine, stool and his legs are getting weak and infected each day because he has not moved them since birth ,says his mother.
For a second opinion and possible treatment with cure. It was gathered that his thinned out spinal cord and all his conditions may likely be properly managed at the specialist GREAT ORMOND STREET HOSPITAL in the United Kingdom.
An appointment has been booked for him for the 1st and 3rd of December 2015. He will be seeing a Neurosurgeon and Professor in Urology. He also needs to visit the Physiotherapy Unit.
According to her,”I humbly appeal for your support, though I know we are in a troubled economic times,as we must raise N10m to save his innocent life and stop the unbearable pain and discomfort that he passes through on a daily basis”
