The Kogi State governor, Captain Idris Wada, has berated President Muhammadu Buhari and the leadership of APC for their insincerity in the fight against corruption, describing the current administration’s anti-graft war as nothing but a ruse.
A statement signed by Governor Wada’s Chief Communications Manager, Mr. Phrank Shaibu, said that the allegation was based on the Vice President’s open support for the return bid of Prince Abubakar Audu who is standing trial for siphoning the N11bn fund meant for the people of Kogi state.
Shaibu lamented the attitude of President Buhari who has continued to shield Audu from prosecution in spite of his trial by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), even as he has been frustrating the commission’s effort at recovering the stolen wealth of the people of Kogi State.
According to him, it was paradoxical that a government that is prosecuting an individual through the nation’s anti-graft agency for financial impropriety is openly endorsing the candidate, berating the government for double standards
