The Inspector General of Police Solomon Arase has said that intelligent led policing is the surest way of making sure that the society is rid of crime and criminality in line with international best practices.
IGP Solomon Arase who stated this when he played host to the chairman of BEN Television Alistair Soyode and the Initiator of Nigerians in Diaspora Mentoring Corp (www.nidmecorp.com), said that the force is doing everything possible to reduce the friction between the officers and men of the force and the general public.
While commending the NIDME CORP Leader, Mr Alistair Soyode for the Unique role the Television Station is playing especially as it pertains to changing the narratives of Africans and Nigerians in particular to the international community, the Police Boss said the Force will be willing at all time to partner with them in the actualization of set goals.
On the forth coming Nigeria's celebrations, the police Boss assured Nigerians both at home and in diaspora that all has been put in place to ensure security of lives and property, while also urging youths to shun all forms of violence as the force will not condone any form of disregard for the laws of the Land.
On his part the BEN Television CEO who also doubles as the Commandant, Nigeria in Diaspora Mentoring Corps said that BEN television was born out of the desire to change the perception of the world concerning the Black race.
In his words, “when I got to the United Kingdom some years back there was no television channel that tells story of the African people the way it should be told, I also wanted to tell the world that Africans, especially Nigerians are also capable of doing great things and be celebrated; so the desire became a dream and that dream gave birth to the Station 13 years ago.”
He also used the medium to introduce Nigerians In diaspora Mentoring Corps to the Inspector General of Police, stating in clear terms that NIDME Corps is an organization that is aimed at mentoring Nigerians youths, SMEs both home and in diaspora as well as creating a platform for them to participate in Nation's Building in all aspects of developmental empowerments.
