Between CKN NEWS,Reuben Abati And The New Dispensation (CKN's Opinion)

For five years,i tried to get the outgone government of President Goodluck Jonathan via his media team led by Reuben Abati to include CKN NEWS in its daily mailing list as a media organization but Reuben Abati fustrated that effort..All his promises were not fulfilled even when my organization, years before he became the media aide to the President honoured him at our ANNUAL NIGERIA MEDIA FRIENDS AWARD at SHERATON LAGOS alongside other notable MEDIA ICONS..My relationship with Abati dates back to the 90s when i was the ARTISTE AND PROMOTIONS MANAGER of Nigeria's home of music SONY MUSIC..He was a regular and a great supporter of the Arts then. But just like he did to his numerous colleagues,Reuben Abati didnt deem it fit to stand up for his friends when it mattered most.Despite Abati's attitude,i remained a loyal fan of Goodluck Jonathan .I defended his policies as if my life depended on it..I stood by his candidacy till the end..He eventually lost and the rest is history. The Only person at the Presidency that assisted me with information and press releases were the Vice President team led by Umar Sani,he was there for me all through and through like a brother..MAY GOD BLESS YOU SIR AS YOU MOVE ON TO OTHER CALLINGS..UMAR IS A KADUNA MAN..I never knew him before but he took me in like a younger brother and gave me all the support and encouragement.

FAST FORWARD

Barely 24 hours after President Muhammadu Buhari was sworn in,his media team added CKN NEWS to its mailing list..I didn't even solicit for it..I have been a critic of the President during his campaign (without disrespecting him).
BUHARI'S MEDIA TEAM found me worthy of being one of those that will be receiving its daily news reports.
Their gesture humbled me..It thought me another lesson in life .Your percieved enemy may indeed be your friend.

I HAVE RESOLVED TO PUT MY EFFORT AT HIGHLIGHTING THE ACTIVITIES OF THE NEW PRESIDENT,I ACCEPT THIS OLIVE BRANCH..WE WILL WORK TOGETHER TO BETTER OUR SOCIETY AND COUNTRY.

There is no need for name calling. The Editor just highlighted his frustration with the media aide of the former president and the olive branch being handed to him by the incumbent. All we want as readers is for CKN from now on to judge successive administrations based on the content of their actions and to use this platform as a fair scale for all.
