GOODLUCK JONATHAN AND PROBLEM OF CRISIS MANAGEMENT..A WAKE UP CALL (By CKN)

Events within the past 48 hours in the polity has awaken my sub consciousness to ask certain questions. It borders mostly on the way and manner President Goodluck Jonathan manages crisis especially within his Party the PDP.
Over the months I have watched how supposedly top ranking officials of PDP left the Party under questionable circumstances.. Could this have been nipped in the bud, i think YES.
Let's even forget the issue of Obasanjo (a man I have come to see as not having principles).
Within months the PDP under President Goodluck's watch lost five strategic governors to the opposition APC under circumstances which I cannot explain.
What were the issues?..The then Chairman of the Party Bamanga Tukur was rocking the boat,he was meddling with the affairs of the Party in the State. The governors met with President with a suggestion for Tukur to be called to order and eased out.
The President sided Bamanga Tukur who has no political advantage at tenexpense of the governors..He wouldn't bug.The governors were asked to go to "HELL" if they so desire.
In one swift,PDP and Goodluck lost Governor Murtala Nyako of Adamawa,Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers,Rabiu Kwankwanso of Kano,Abdulfatah Ahmed of Kwara as well as Wamako of Sokoto State.
To Goodluck and PDP ,it was good riddance to bad rubbish. The President and his men were not able to read in between the lines..They were not bothered. What is five governors to a HUGE PARTY like PDP.
They forgot the fact that Kano for instance has the highest number of voters in the North..Sokoto State is the seat of the Caliphate..The loss of Amaechi will be a minus to the voting bloc of the South south etc.
Few months later, the same Bamanga Tukur was sacked ,the damage has been done,APC laughed last.
Had Goodluck Jonathan handled the crisis maturedly,he probably wouldn't have found himself in the terrible situation he found himself today. Kano,Rivers,Sokoto,Adamawa and Kwara State would have been a sure banker for him.
Let's also take into consideration the issue of Obasanjo ..(Though no one can ever please him),but the former President hinged his remaining in the PDP on one particular single case.. The issue of Chief Buruji whom OBJ termed a DRUG PUSHER.
Obasanjo has never hidden his hatred for the Ogun State born Chief. He advised against making the Chief the Leader of the Party in his home State of Ogun State.
He warned of the consequences..Goodluck Jonathan had the opportunity of choosing between Buruji and OBJ.
Who did they chose?,BURUJI..They did not only handed over the Party machinery in the State to him, they went ahead to chose him as their senatorial candidate for the 2015 election.
Obj was left out in the cold..When the kitchen started getting too hot for him, President Jonathan started sending emissaries to Obasanjo..He took some notable Clerics along with him to beg the Egba Chief but it was obvious that the damage has been done..Obasanjo was called all sorts of name including the President referring to him as a MOTOR PARK TOUT.Things had fallen Apart and the Centre could no longer Hold
The lesson for me is that Goodluck Jonathan wouldn't have found himself in his present condition,if he had acted like a politician.. In politics, you give and take as much as you can. You will learn to dine with the devil and your enemies.
I hope and believe that he is learning so fast with what he is going on. He should listen less to the sycophants surrounding as aides and rise above all issues like a leader and statesman..
If he eventually wins this election (which I still believe, he will),Goodluck should use the next four years to right the wrongs and make less enemies for himself.

I WISH HIM WELL .
