In a long while I have not attended those churches as I used to do before. My work load is overwhelming, don't get me wrong, it cannot take precedent over my creator. But atimes, just as I was about hitting the road for service, something will surely come up and I just end up not attending.
But I have promised myself that God willing, come 2015,If the Lord tarry a while, i will surely make it a point of duty to always attend church on Sundays.
Today, i decided to attend MFM for a change. Why MFM you may ask, you remember some weeks back ,I wrote about a certain Church which has just opened beside my house after I moved away from my former abode because of a Mosque.
I decided to visit MFM because I just want to make sure that all the noise I hear from their end comes from truly human beings. I wanted know where they get the energy for their none stop prayers.
I arrived early enough for the commencement of the service.
Just like every other church, the service it started with praise and worship.
From English choruses to pidgin, Yoruba, Hausa, Igbo, Efik , Bini, Idoma name it, the songs flow.
After the service of songs, by this time the Church was full .The officiating Pastor commenced the proceedings for the day. He spoke at length about the Church, its vision and why it has decided to open a branch in my area.
He urged every member to make sure he or s brings two other new members during next week's service which according to him will be the last Sunday of the year, assuring that it will be a triple impacted service, never witnessed by any one of us before.
That over, other Church activities continued until it got to prayer period.
Never in my life have I ever witnessed any Church that prays like MFM members.
The Pastor will raise an issue,then he gives the command like a Military man FIREEEEEE....the next thing you heard was tatatatatataatatata.. die,die,die,die,die,die,die,die..Everyone was shouting die,die,die,i opened my eyes to see who they were killing but couldn't see anyone.
What is all this die,die ,die all about.The next thing,the Pastor will give another command and everywhere goes quiet ,I mean that pin drop silence as if nothing has happened.
The Pastor raised another prayer point,ANYONE THAT SAYS ITS OVER FOR YOU WILL NOT SEE THE END OF 2014,FIREEEEEE...Everyone started again,any one,anyone,i say anyone,anyone was all I was hearing ,then Die,die,die,die,die,i say die,die,die,fire,fire .fire,fire,i say fire.
At the rate they were going about fire ,fire thing,i became worried since it was the same Bible that said there is power in the tongue..The rate at which these people were invoking FIRE,if care is not taken, the building may just go up in flame.
While they were jumping up and down like people fully possessed with something ,I looked for the nearest exit entrance to take my seat.
I no wan hear say anything happen to me for this Church.
The Pastor raised his voice again and all kept quiet. He issued another prayer point.. ALL THOSE YOU THAT HAVE BEEN STANDING ON YOUR PROGRESS,TODAY IS THEIR LAST DAY...Holllllllllly Ghooost Fireeee,Fireeeeee
Once again the prayer started, Kill,kill,die,die,fire ,fire born dem..Anyone,who sits on my progress,fire ,fire,fire,fire,die,die,die,haaa odiegwu o..Gini bu nkaaaa,i asked myself
Then the master of them all was when the Pastor said the next prayer was for all ladies that were not married and who have been seeking for husbands,from today ,husbands of your choice will be running after you like honey,fireeeee.Tell God the type of man you want, describe him,possess him..tell him,fireeeeeee
Haaa,nsogbu,come see wahala,gbege..All the ladies were on fire, even the one I was eyeing when entered the service took her prayers to the next level,i heard her shouting Father ,he must be tall ,dark, handsome, good job with money.. Father give it to me, give it to me, give it to me as she was shouting give it to me, she started pointing at my direction,,I pretended not to have seen her, ,but she continued shouting give it to me,give it to me,in my heart of heart,i told myself se this babe no sabi say I don marry,abi which one be this one wey she dey tell baba God to give me to her.
At this point,i realise if I don't leave the Church,the next prayer point may be GO AND DRAG ANY MAN YOU FANCY AND RAIN PRAYERS on him.
I quickly sneaked out of the church, i had come to see those disturbing my peace , but ended up seeing wetin pass me..
The question on my mind as I left was, how come MFM always want to KILL their "enemies". .I thought the Bible said pray for your enemies.
Sooner than later, If MFM kills all their enemies, what else would they pray for..
