Aftermath the last congresses held by the Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the leadership of all the eight wards in Shomolu chapter of the party have threatened to resign en masse, if the APC leadership at both state and national levels would not allow the wishes of party faithful as expressed at the April 24, 2014 exercise.
The aggrieved chairmen of the party, including Babajide Ferreira, who is also the chairman of chairmen representing Ward B; Mr. Olajuwon Okesola (Ward F) and Mr. Tunde (Ward E), who spoke with newsmen separately on the matter, all expressed dissatisfaction as they denounced imposition of candidates of a group led by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Abiodun Kuye.

According to them, the party congresses held in the eight wards, comprising Shomolu was freely contested, supervised by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and police and won, but Kuye pressured the state leadership under Henry Ajomale ,to cede three out of the wards to his group.
Ferreira said that the party directive that three out of the eight wards in the area be conceded to the Kuye faction could force him and his colleagues to resign as APC executive members in Shomolu.
Fereira, who had led protests to the Lagos State House of Assembly and state secretariat of the party on ACME Road, Ikeja and submitted petitition as well, said the last congresses witnessed the defeat of the Kuye group in all the wards in the area ,despite initial appeal to the group to work in partnership with all members to achieve total unity.
