CKN Nigeria On The Spot Update On Osun Guber Election:

Since our crew arrived Osogbo, the capital of Osun State at about 9.05am today ,Friday 8th August 2014..We have taken time to move around some of the major cities in the State. Places visited includes Ede, Ile Ife, Ilesha and Osogbo. The State is under an unprecedented tension as preparation towards the Guber election holding tomorrow is being rounded up. Campaigns have stopped .All the Parties have been making last minute efforts to woe voters. Though about 20 candidates are contesting the election, but its going to be a straight fight between incumbent Rauf Aregbesola of APC and Iyiola Omisore of the PDP..While Aregbesola has an overwhelming support around the Ilesha/Osogbo axis, Ife remains the stronghold of Iyiola Omisore..We have noticed also an unprecedented deployment of Security personnel made up of the Army, Police, Civil Defence and other Para-military agents. Osun is now a total militarized zone.. INEC informed Journalists today that they are fully ready for the election.. Movement have been restricted between this evening till early Sunday morning throughout the State. It is hoped this election INEC will live to its promise to make this election the freest ever..More reports later..CKN
