President Goodluck Jonathan has
called for the extension for the state of emergency in Adamawa, Borno and Yobe
states for additional six months following ongoing status of insecurity in the
North Eastern part of the Country. President Jonathan request was contain in a
letter sent to the Nigeria Senate which was read on the floor of the senate
this morning by the Deputy senate President Ike Ekweremadu . In the letter the
President told the Senate that security situation in the aforementioned states
are still worrisome. The senate is expected to carry out legislative
deliberation on the president request for emergency rules extension in the
three north eastern as soon as possible. It would be recalled that President
Goodluck Jonathan declared emergency rule in Adamawa , Borno and Yobe states
following security challenges about a year ago.
Hope the governors are leaving 2 dis time. All it will just be a wast of time as it as been. T J
ReplyDeleteIt didn't work in Plateau State wen Obasanjo removed Joshua Dariye.Removing d Governors has no positive security impact at all.They r just State security chiefs by name as long as police and d army reports n take orders frm IG n chief of army staff respectively. Jonathan can extend d state of emergency 4 as long as he wants n notin will change until he shows dat he is willing n able to end dis nonsense n d security chiefs read his body language.He is d commander in chief of d Nigerian Armed forces,period!

ReplyDeleteI think Jonathan has a hidden agenda in the north east. God will disgrace him. He should understand that he is no longer popular in Nigeria except among the tribalistic ibos and south southern ants . He will return to his ogogoro brnch in Otuoke come 2015.
