Man Appears In Court For Beheading Judge

Killer houseboy, David Uche Ndah, who allegedly hacked a retired magistrate, Mrs Olufunmilayo Timeyin, to death in Abeokuta, Ogun State capital, has confessed the reason for ending the life of the 65-year-old woman.
The incident, which happened last week in Laderin Workers Estate, Oke
Mosan, Abeokuta, a stone throw from the Ogun State Government House, was a rude shock to the residents of the area, as the incident came barely 24 hours after police Corporal Sukanmi Ogunbiyi committed suicide, after successfully killing seven other people, including his wife.
According to the deputy PPRO, the offence of the late magistrate was sacking the middle-aged David from the service of the household, a confession the assailant made.
Oyeyemi told our correspondent in an exclusive interview that David had earlier been to the house to protest his sack and foment trouble and was arrested by the police.
Meanwhile, emotion was betrayed yesterday while when the accused person was arraigned before Magistrate Anthony Araba of Magistrate Court 1, Isabo Abeokuta on a one count charge of murder.
In the charge sheet titled “Commissioner of Police versus David Uche Ndah” read before the court, the Police prosecutor, Assistant
Superintendent of Police, ASP Banji Sangotokun told the court that the accused committed the offence about 3pm on March 28, 2014.
“That you David Uche Ndah on the 28th of March, 2014, at abouth 1500hrs, at Block 11, Flat C of Laderin House Estate, Abeokuta in
Abeokuta Magisterial District did unlawfully killed one Funmilayo Timehin, aged 65 by matchetting her to death,” the statement read in part.
The prosecutor further stated that the accused committed the offense “contrary to Section 316 and punishable under Section 319 of the Criminal Code Law of Ogun state of Nigeria 2006”.
When the case was mentioned, the Chief Magistrate who could not, obviously control his emotion spoke directly to the accused person. He said:, “So, you are the one who killed one of our colleagues,? He asked.
The accused person immediately responded in affirmative before the magistrate continued, “As I am looking at you, you are a dead man already but I will assure you that all your generations will go the way of Mrs Timeyin,” he cursed.
Magistrate Araba was immediately in tears and stood down the court while he went to his office. Upon emerging from the office, the accused person pleaded guilty to the offense as charged.
In his rulings, the trial Magistrate Araba, ordered the police prosecutor, ASP Sangotokun, to duplicate the case file, to enable the Directorate of Public Prosecution, DPP to advise the court appropriately on the case.
Though no date was fixed for the continuation of the trial, the magistrate, however, ordered that the accused be remanded in prison custody, pending the advice of the DPP.

  1. Is there no need to conduct psychiatric test on the suspect.

  2. The suspect could not have been in his right frame of mind when he carried out the murder. We read a case of a man who beheaded his father & eat his neck. How can you say that he is normal. We are certainly in the End times.
