Two Die After Drinking Posioned "Zobo" At Wedding..Culprits Arrested

Two persons, Gaddafi Inusa and Hayadu Ibrahim, died after drinking Zobo juice laced with a poisonous substance known as Zakami during a wedding at Ungwar Uku quarters, Kano.

The police, on getting the information, swung into action and effected the arrest of the first two suspects who fled to Bauchi State.

“On 31/03/2014, at about 20:40hrs, information was received from a Good Samaritan on the same date about 15:00- 16:00hrs, that a wedding ceremony of one Ahmed Musa was organised at Ungwar Uku Quarters, Kano.

“During the celebration, one Abdullahi Shuaibu, alias Abba Kwaya, Abubakar Musa, alias Abba Teko and Abubakar Aliyu, alias Kwalla, all males, of Ungwar Uku, conspired and adulterated the Zobo juice with poisonous substance, Zakami, which was served to the guests.

“After drinking the Zobo, two people namely, Gaddafi Inusa and Hayadu Ibrahim died.”

The culprits are now in police custody
