Sacked Borno Information Commissioner Speaks On Sack

Recently sacked Commissioner for Home Affairs, Information and Culture, Mr. Inuwa says he saw his exit coming.
Governor Kashim Shettima on Friday announced the relieve of Bwala and three senior special assistants, including Makinta Zarami, Ali Umar and Ali Umar Bolori in his first minor cabinet reshuffle since assuming office 2011.
A release issued by Bwala on Friday night, hours after his exit reads: “I am not surprised because I have been preparing for it long ago. I saw it coming and I thank God for everything, because it is part of my policy in public service to begin preparing for my exit the first day I take up appointment.
“Loyalty has a price, and those who have the culture of keeping loyalty must be prepared to pay the price. I am happy that today, I am paying the price for loyalty. I thank the governor for giving me the opportunity to serve in his government up to this moment.
“We are all members of the big APC family, and I am always ready to work in the interest of the party. I nurse no ill-feelings against him or anybody, because this will not alter my loyalty to our party. I thank God for keeping me in office this far and for seeing that it ended well, not on any negative note,” he said.
Bwala is said to be ‘very close’ to former Governor Ali Modu Sheriff who is allegedly not in good terms with the incumbent governor while the other aides are reportedly close to Mohammed Imam, a close confidant of Sheriff and former Borno State chairman of the All Nigeria Peoples’ Party (ANPP).
Imam’s posters signifying his intention to contest next year’s gubernatorial contest in the state under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) along that of Sheriff (seeking for the Senate) have been pasted in some areas in Maiduguri.
