East-West road.
The minister, while inspecting the Warri – PortHarcourt
Section of the East-West Road, responded, when asked how much was budgeted for
the road in the 2014 budget, “We don’t have the budget yet, we only have
appropriation as the budget has not been passed. But 50 percent of the
appropriation will be dedicated to the East-West Road.“The contractors are
doing their best from what I have seen, they have filled all the places that
flood washed away, if they continue like this by December they would have done
appreciable work.”Commending Setraco for doing a good job on sections of the
road, Darius said: “I cannot project a completion date when I don’t have the
funds. We will ensure that the stretches that are highly congested like Eleme
