Jonah Jang Withdraws Court Cases Against Journalists

As part of his gestures to mark his 70th birthday, Governor of Plateau State, Jonah Jang, has withdrawn court cases against various individuals and media outfits that published defamatory stories and materials against his person.
This was contained in a statement signed by the state Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Justice, Edward Pwajok.
He said: "As part of his 70th birthday celebration, Governor Jang has decided to forgive all persons and media organisations that injured his hard earned family reputation and personal pedigree. He has been led by divine spirit to show magnanimity to his detractors by directing the immediate discontinuance of all cases filed by him and on his behalf in different courts."
The statement however said Jang expects that the unprecedented gesture would be appreciated by the individuals and media organisations concerned, all of whom the governor considered to be his good friends and partners in progress.
The governor used the opportunity to advise media organisations to verify their facts properly and thoroughly before publication.
