Another PDP Bigwig Killed In Osun State

BARELY two weeks after a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ife East Local Government of Area of Osun State, Pa Taiwo Ogundele, was shot to death during the recently concluded voters’ registration exercise, another stalwart of the party, Mr Alaba Agunmo, was on Friday afternoon at Irojo, in Ilesa East Local Government, stabbed to death by suspected political thugs.
It was gathered that Agunmo was stabbed to death by thugs who reportedly invaded his residence at Irojo area of Ilesa.
Credible source informed Saturday Tribune that the thugs lured Agunmo to the back of his residence where they stabbed him in the neck till he gave up the ghost.
But the state chairman of the PDP, Alhaji Ganiyu Olaoluwa, in a statement issued on Friday, tasked the police to investigate the murder and apprehend the killers, describing the deceased as a committed member of his party.
While imploring the police to ensure thorough investigation of the murder case, Olaoluwa called on relevant agencies of government to protect members of the PDP in the state from untimely death.
When contacted, the state’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mrs Folasade Odoro, confirmed the incident, but said the deceased was allegedly killed at a pub in Ilesa, where he had gone to relax, and that her men had already commenced investigation into the matter.
