Ahead of the 2014 expectations, the second national carrier, Globacom has
welcomed Daniel Dapo Oyebanji, popularly called Kokomaster or Eja nla to further drive the company’s
growing subscribers base as well as increase the company’s profile as an
indigenous telecoms company.
The
event was also used to showcase the existing partnership between Glo and Nokia,
as the latter unveiled Asha 210, a dual Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) with
multi functions.
Speaking
at a press conference in Lagos, Glo’s Head Post Paid Service, Mr. Kamal
Sonibare, said welcoming D’banj back to the company was a value proposition,
which stands for lots of energy and excitement.
According
to him, Asha 210 phone, which goes for N11, 000, was tagged: D’banj’s special
Edition Smart Phone with free one year internet access.
He
said the Glo Nokia partnership would deepen business prospects, saying the
phone had 50 hit songs from D’Banj of which 15 were new songs, yet to be
released.
On
his part, Nokia’s Senior Marketing Manager, West Central Africa during his
demonstration noted that the phone had features for speedy surfing, slam to
share and cost effective. While stressing that the Asha series had become
accepted in the country because of its uniqueness and extra features, which
were usually associated with smartphones.
