Four Killed In Shi'ites,Street Urchins Clash In Sokoto

Four persons were today (sunday) killed and dozens injured as Shi'ite followers clashed with some street urchins in the ancient city of Sokoto.
Report reaching CKN Nigeria has it that some followers of Shi'ite group who were recently released after over six years in prison clashed with some urchins known as 'Yan Iraqi' or PDP political thugs close to Sultan Palace in Sokoto this evening.
The clash left four person dead and several others with various degrees of injury when the urchins tried to stop their procession around Sokoto metropolis.
The Shi’ites members who were released from different prisons across the country converged at Shuni town, 15 kilometers to Sokoto were they proceeded to the city in order to celebrate their release.
Members of the Mobile Police used who were called in to put an end to the clash had a hectic time curbing the fight.
They had to resort to the use of live bullets, tear-gas to quell the disturbance.
The town is presently under heavy security as check points have been set up across the town to maintain law and order
