FRSC Boss Condemns High Rate Of Young Shall Grow Accidents

Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Osita Chidoka, said on Wednesday that he had written to the Managing Director of Toyota Nigeria Limited over high frequency of crashes involving Toyota buses, especially the Hiace brand (aka Hummer bus)
Chidoka said the FRSC had also written to the management of Young Shall Grow Motors over the frequent involvement of their buses in crashes, saying the company’s buses were involved in 32 crashes which resulted in 71 deaths and 93 injuries between January 2012 and June 2013.

He said that the FRSC was carrying out a full audit of safety processes of the transport company, spanning its drivers, vehicles, and company policies to ascertain their compliance with minimum safety standards.

The FRSC, Chidoka said, he was collecting data on another transport firm, Peace Mass Transit, and would also conduct safety audit on the company .

    1. I agree totally with u but our commercial bus drivers are always too impatient when they are on the road. They can't over speed now cos the roads are bad and we are recording high rate of fatal accidents. Imagine the overspeeding if the roads were like the ones in Dubai?

    1. U see yourself, d most fatal accidents dat claim more lifes happen where d roads is smooth. Accidents dat happen on bad spots are less fatal meaning recklessness on d part of d drivers and inpatience due to very bad conditions given to d drivers are responsible for most of d accidents. Go and check, d drivers are remunerated based on d numbers of trips they run and dat is why they are inpatient. It has nothing to do with tribe because people like u believe d yorubas are responsible for even d misfortune in your villages. Looser.

    1. Your comment shows dat most of d fatalities on our roads is largely due to reckless driving. Afterall, Benin/Asaba road is very smooth but yet, we record fatal accidents on dat road too.
