Mr. Bolaji Tunji has been
appointed as the Editor of National Mirror newspaper. His appointment is with
immediate effect. Before his appointment, he was Editor of the Sunday paper.
A 1990 graduate of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile- Ife,
Osun State, Tunji, a former teacher, began his journalism career with The
Guardian Newspaper in 1993 where he spent eight years before resigning as a
correspondent to join Daily Independent as Deputy News Editor in September
2001.
At the Daily Independent, he had a meteoric rise as he was
promoted thrice within one year, first as Deputy Editor, Politics, Deputy
Editor, News before he was elevated to the position of Editor, Breaking News,
the evening publication from the newspaper’s stable.
He resigned from Daily Independent in 2005 and had a stint with
the Daily Times as Deputy Editor, when a private investor took over the
organization. It was from there that he joined the now defunct Comet newspaper
as the Saturday Editor, which later metamorphosed into The Nation newspaper.
He was the Saturday Editor of the paper for four years before he
was appointed in 2010 as the pioneer Sunday Editor of the repackaged National
Mirror publications and held the title before his new appointment as the Editor
of the National Mirror – the flagship title in the stable of the Global Media
Mirror Ltd. Tunji is married with children.
