A group, Okun Development Association of Kogi State, Lagos
State chapter, has bemoaned what it described as an alleged gross
marginalisation of Kogi West Senatorial district in the scheme of things by the
state government.
Also,
the association canvassed for the zone to produce the governor of the state in
2015.
It equally noted that the state of infrastructural decay in the area occasioned by neglect from successive administrations in the state was unacceptable. .

Speaking to in an interview, Chairman
of the Lagos State chapter of Okun Development Association, Chief Akere
Owoniyi, said it has become imperative for the government of the day in the
state to bring development to the area.
Owoniyi lamented that there was
nothing on the ground in the West Senatorial district of the state to indicate
government’s presence in the area.
He called on Okun people to come
together as one, with a view to forming a common front and take what rightfully
belongs to them from the state government.
While saying the Okun people are
peace loving, Owoniyi also stressed that as civilised people, the Okuns will
employ dialogue and appeal to other senatorial districts to support them in
their quest at producing the governor of the state in 2015.
‘’The Okun people are gifted people
who have contributed immensely to the development of Kogi State but yet are
being marginalised. The time has come for us to come together and woo the
other senatorial district to support us so that we can produce the governor of
the state in 2015.
When CKN Nigeria got across to one of the spokesmen of the
Kogi State Government in Lokoja, the simple question he put across to us
was..Where is the present Deputy Governor of the State, Chief Awoniyi from,Is he not an Okun man?..

ReplyDeleteGood question there, where is present deputy governor of kogi state from if true there are actually marginalised, how many commissioner do they have in the state executive? He shuold go home and ask his poeple very well, if their representative in the state executive council are not doing well, they should have them selve to blame.
