AN intending couple who had
concluded arrangement towards their wedding, were on Sunday, shot dead by
unknown gunmen after returning from a Sunday service.
The man and his fiancee, were
returning from the Sunday service at Living Faith Church, Sabongari, when they
were attacked.
According to information gathered,
the fiancee, after the church service, accompanied her partner to Shagari
Quarters where he lived. However, unknown to them, they were trailled by their
assailants.
The source hinted that the gunmen,
who were on a motorbike, shot them and ran away. However, investigations
further revealed that recently another man was alleged to have been killed by
gunmen in the same house where the victim resided.
The bullet hit the man on the head
while his fiancee was also hit very close to her chest. The man died instantly
while his fiancee was rushed to hospital for treatment.
Investigation further disclosed
that the fiancee later died in the hospital.
All efforts to get the police
confirmation on the sad incident proved abortive as the image maker of the
police was not on his seat when the Nigerian Tribune called at his office.
