Nigeria Banks On Tracks And Field, As Main Events Start At The Olympics Today


Nigeria’s medals hopes are high as the athletics heats begin on Friday at the Olympic Stadium.
Nigeria’s Regina George, who was readmitted to the Olympics after passing a second drug test, will feature in the 400m race alongside compatriots Omolara Omotosho and Amechi Morton.
The first part of the athletics events for individual races will take place on Friday and Saturday while the team races are fixed for next week.
Amechi will compete first in lane 3 for the first round heat at 11.15am. Omotosho is set run also in lane 3 in the women event at 12.08am. George will take part in heat 7 by 12.48 and will run in lane 7.
