Chief Akin Omoboriowo,Ondo Former Deputy Dies at 81

The Former deputy Governor of Old Ondo State,Chief Akin Omoboriowo died at Nicholas Hospital Lagos today,aged 81 from complications arising from an operation.Chief Akin Omoboriowo was the deputy to former Governor Adekunle Ajasin under the UPN platform between 1979-1983.He dumped the party to contest for governorship under the then NPN against his boss and "won" in a controversial manner.The effect of the result of that election led to one of the biggest riots ever witnessed in the State since the days of operation wet e..Several houses were burnt and tens of lives lost..After the military take over in 1983,his political fortune nose dived and he became irrelevant politically till his death..He is survived by children and several grand children..CKN
