Our attention has been drawn to a thoroughly misleading and false article with a deceptive headline- “Akpabio Makes U-turn on Udom, Mobilizes His Aides to Attack Akwa Ibom Governor”, written by a faceless individual with the intent to create a wedge between His Excellency, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, Governor, Akwa Ibom State and the Senate Minority Leader, His Excellency, Distinguished Senator, Godswil Akpabio (CON).
We wish to state categorically that the story both in content, context, tone, tenor and approach is decidedly false and speaks to the deviousness of mind of the purveyor of the falsehood.
It bears repeating that the two leaders: Governor Udom Emmanuel and the Senate Minority Leader, Distinguished Senator Godswill Akpabio (CON) enjoy a superlative and cordial relationship and regard themselves as brothers dedicated to the same purpose and drive: ensuring that the people of Akwa Ibom state arise and claim the faith of their greatness and the provision an alternative voice in the legislative process of this country.
The two leaders are dedicated to ensuring that Akwa Ibom state remains the bastion of the People’s Democratic Party (the PDP)- a party that has, through the superlative performance of its dedicated elected officials changed the Akwa Ibom story from that of playing on the side-lines to taking a centre stage in our national socio-political space.
The two leaders believe and remain dedicated to ensuring that, as it was with Uyo Senatorial District and Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District respectively, Eket Senatorial District too, will rule this State for eight years and no amount of blackmail, manufactured lies or the deployment of subterfuge or sly under-handed tactics by the purveyors, apparatchiks and merchants of lie will change that dynamics.
