The
spate of brutality of civilians by uniformed men seem not to be abating as a
Lance Corporal was alleged to have brutalised a man in the Oshodi area of Lagos
State, while a naval rating was held for beating up a security guard at a fast
food restaurant in the state.
The
two incidents, captured in a snapshot and video respectively, have gone viral
on the social media, with many Nigerians calling for the identification and
punishment of the culprits.
In
the Oshodi incident, which was shared by a popular comedian, Ali Baba, a
solider could be seen standing on a resident in the mud, with a whip in his
hand.
Although
the time and cause of the incident could not be ascertained, the background
showed the incident happened beside a rail track in front of the Nigerian Army
Shopping Arena, Oshodi.
“Bloody civilian! How dare you challenge an officer?
And after investigation, it would be an #unknownSoldier.
Bloody civilian,”
Ali Baba wrote in his Instagram
post.
The military authorities have yet to react to the incident as of press time
