VETERAN JOURNALIST WITHDRAWS HIS MEMBERSHIP OF NIGERIAN GUILD OF EDITORS

VETERAN JOURNALIST/FORMER CHAIRMAN ,EDITORIAL BOARD OF VANGUARD NEWSPAPER Ikeddy Isiguzo WITHDRAWS HIS MEMBERSHIP OF NIGERIAN GUILD OF EDITORS ..

His Post

"Goodbye Nigerian Guild Of Editors

I CHOOSE today to personally withdraw my membership of the Nigerian Guild of Editors. I do not want to be in any way associated with a body that turns its founding principles on their head. My only regret is that I did not do this earlier.

My gratitude, in immense measures, go to all who spoke out about the decadence the Guild enthusiastically embraces. You are my heroes. To those who, in public believe in the Guild of Editors we have, but complain privately about the rot, your conscience, I know you still have one, would judge you - there is no better judge.

Journalism, and the larger society, would be better without a collective that is an imminent harm to itself and the society.

I feel happy releasing myself from the vicarious burden I bore being a member of the Guild.
Thanks you all, as we continue the battle to save ourselves from being lost in the morass of peoples' expectations and popular positions.

Signed

Ikeddy ISIGUZO
