The Lagos State Police Command on 25th April 2017, arrested two (2)
suspects for being in possession of Nigerian currency notes (One
Thousand Naira denomination), totalling One Million Naira (#1,000,000).
The suspects are Mahmoud Amodu and Isiaku Aliyu. They were arrested at
Seme Border area.
The suspicious manner in which the suspects conducted themselves while crossing the border to Benin Republic caught the attention of the Police who subsequently interrogated and conducted a thorough search of their persons. These led to the discovery of the exhibits.
Discreet investigation is ongoing to unravel the source of the money and person(s) sponsoring the suspects. Culprits will thereafter be arraigned in court
