NCC EVC DELIVERS 2016 NIGERIAN ACADEMY OF ENGINEERING LECTURE

The EVC-NCC, Professor Umar Danbatta delivered the 2016 Academy Public Lecture of the Nigerian Academy of Engineering which held in Abuja on November 8, 2016. The Lecture title was :
The National Broadband Plan as a Strategy for Social and Economic Transformation:The NCC Mandate.

In his paper, the EVC stated that the National Broadband Plan is a roadmap and timelines aimed to deliver a five fold increase in broadband penetration from 2013 -2018. To achieve this , the NCC deliberately developed the 8-point Agenda to address the NBP challenges and ensure the attainment of 30% Broadband penetration by 2018.". 

The National Broadband Plan activities mandated to NCC for implementation includes Policy and Regulation, Enabling Infrastructure, Costing and Pricing, Funding & Investment, Dtiving Demand, Building Fibre Infrastructure and wireless Broadband Infrastructure Upgrade and Expansion.

Present at the event are Mr. Sunny Echono- Perm.Sec of the Federal Ministry of Communications representing the Minister, Engr. Mrs. J. O. Maduka- President of the Nigerian Academy of Engineering, Engr. Ernest Ndukwe-Former EVC-NCC, Tony Ojobo-Director, Public Affairs and other top Management of the Commission.
