More facts has emerged on why the Editor of Vanguard Newspaper ,Mr Mideno Bayagbon resigned.

A very reliable source who works with the Newspaper told CKN News that the Editor resigned on Monday due to some “internal politics” within the organization.

Mr Bayagbon an Alumni of UNILAG and UNN has worked with Vanguard for close to two decades, he rose through the ranks before taking over from Mr Gbenga Adefaye some years back as Editor Daily.

According to the source who spoke under condition of anonymity, Mr Bayagbon got tired of the internal politics and decided to throw in the towel..It was a mutual agreement. He felt it was time he move on to other things.

The Newspaper announced the appointment of Eze Anaba the former deputy Editor as its new editor. No mention was made about Mr Mideno Bayagbon’s exit raising speculations that all was not well.

This was the short press release by the media house on Anaba’s appointment

The Management of Vanguard Media Limited, has appointed Mr. Eze Anaba as the new Editor of Vanguard newspapers.

Mr Anaba holds a Master’s degree in Communication from Leicester University, UK. He was, until his elevation, the Deputy Editor.
At various times, he was the Saturday Editor, Senior Deputy News Editor, and the Law and Human Rights Editor.
He brings to the table a robust media management experience and huge contacts in the public and private sectors.
Mr Anaba is widely travelled and is also on the boards of some leading human rights groups in the country.

CKN News investigation revealed that Mr Bayagbon has joined the growing ranks of online publishers with the launch of his online page www.thenewsguru.com
All attempt made by CKN News to get Mr Bayagbon’s side of the story was unsuccessful as his phones were switched and text messages remained unreplied.
The media group is owned by veteran journalist Sam Amuka whom we learnt has also brought in two of his children to be part of the management of the media group.
