CKN EXCLUSIVE:HOW MRS EMEFIELE (CBN GOV'S WIFE ) WAS KIDNAPPED

Following the kidnap of the wife of the Central Bank of Nigeria Governor, Margaret Emefiele by unknown gunmen, the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Ibrahim Idris has deployed Special Force Unit and Intelligence Response Team to Edo State to rescue the victim.

The victim, Margaret Emefiele was kidnapped along the Benin-Agbor road on Thursday.

It was learnt that the kidnappers are demanding huge sum of ransom from the victim’s family but the amount was not disclosed to our Correspondent.

Confirming the incident, a reliable source who pleaded anonymity confirmed the kidnap in Abuja on Friday.


He however noted that the IGP has deployed Special Force Unit and Intelligent Response Team of the Force in their numbers to Edo state to salvage the situation.


According to him: “It is true that the wife of the CBN Governor, Margaret Emefiele was kidnapped along Benin-Agbor road on Thursday by unidentified gunmen.


“The IGP has however deployed Special Force Unit and Intelligence Response Team to Edo state to address the situation.


“The special Team deployedare expected to thoroughly investigate the case, rescue the victim and bring the perpetrators to Justice and I can assure you that very soon, she will be rescued and the kidnappers will be arrested”.


On whether ransom has been demanded and the amount, he said: “They are demanding for ransom because they are in contact with the family of the victim but I cannot disclose the amount to you right now.”


As at the time of filing this report, efforts to reach the Force Spokesman, Don Awunah to get his reaction proved abortive .


Meanwhile CKN News invesigation has revealed how the woman was kidnapped..According to our investigation ,Mrs Emefiele,was kidnapped despite the fact she had a police escorts.According to the report ,Mrs Emeifele was riding in a black Toyota Landcruiser Jeep with a pilot police escort when they were confronted by the heavily armed kidnappers,who shot at the two vehicles before demobilising them.

Those that witnessed the incident thought it was a robbery attack until they started reading the story on social media.

Their properties were scattered allover the road after the incident  .

It could not be ascertained as at the time of going to press if anyone was killed during the process.
