Governor Emmanuel Udom of Akwa Ibom State, has dissolved the State Executive Council.
This was disclosed by the Secretary to the State Government, Etekamba Umoren, who asked all the commissioners to hand over to the permanent secretaries in their ministries.
The statement said, “The Governor expresses his deep and profound appreciation for the contributions of the EXCO members to the development of the state, and wishes them success in their future endeavours.”
Most of the sacked commissioners were part of the cabinet of former State Governor Godswill Akpabio who is now the Senate Minority leader.
It has not been ascertained when a new cabinet will be constituted ,but a close aide of the governor who spoke with CKN News on condition of anonymity said that intense lobby has commenced to fill the vacant positions.
