THOUSANDS STRANDED AT AIRPORTS AS AVIATION FUEL BITES HARDER



Thousands of Nigerians have in the past few days been stranded at airports across the country due to ability of airlines flying as a result of scarcity of aviation fuel.

CKN news check at the Lagos and Abuja airports revealed that passengers have had their flights cancelled for upward of six hours.

A passenger who does not want his name in print who spoke to CKN news at the VIP section of the Murtala Mohammed Local Airport MM2 in Ikeja yesterday said he has been at the airport for over four hours.
Another passenger, a journalist said he and his colleagues were yet to board their flight after a six hour wait.

The chaotic situation was also noticed at the Nnamdi Azikiwe airport in Abuja.
While several airlines had their flights delayed, others opted for outright cancellation.

No reason has been given for the current scarcity.

A call put across to the General Manager, Public Affairs of FAAN,Mr Yakub Dati went unanswered as at the time of filing in this report.
