RAMADAN CONTINUES..SALLAH IS WEDNESDAY..SULTAN OF SOKOTO

The Ramadan fast continues today as the new moon (of Shawwal) was not sighted yesterday.

A statement signed by the chairman, Advisory Committee on Religious Affairs to the Sultanate Council, Professor Sambo Junaidu Sokoto, said the committee had not received any news about the new moon, meaning the month of Ramadan would complete a 30-day circle.

"With this development, Muslims are expected to fast today while Sallah will be next tomorrow (Wednesday July 6), which is equivalent to 1st Shawwal, 1437 AH," it said.

The statement added that the Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Sa'ad Abubakar, who approved the report, prayed Allah to accept all good deeds in this Holy month.
