PARENTS URGE FG TO IGNORE CALL FOR CLOSURE OF TURKISH SCHOOLS IN NIGERIA OVER COUP ALLEGATIONS

Nigerian Turkish International College has faulted the claim by the Turkish government that it was involved in the recent coup in the country.

It, therefore, urged the Nigerian government to reject the call by Turkey to close down the 17 Turkish schools in Nigeria.

In a statement signed by the Managing Director of the schools, Mr. Orhan Kertim, the call by the Turkish Ambassador to the Nigerian government to close down the schools in Nigeria was baseless.

Kertim noted that the schools are operating in partnership with Nigerians and they are not Turkish government owned.

He also described as an affront the call by the ambassador since Nigeria is a sovereign state.
