The
Police Service Commission has approved the promotion of 156 police officers
including Kano State Commissioner of Police Musa Mohammed, who was
elevated to the rank of Assistant Inspector-General of Police.
The
PSC also promoted 10 Deputy Commissioners of Police to the rank of
Commissioners of Police.
They
are Ero Oga, Yunana Babas, Dan-Malam Mohammed, Mu’azu
Halilu, Rabiu Yusuf, Sanusi Lemu, Ahmed Iliyasu, Isyaku
Garko, Mohammed Kura and Alhassan Mamuda.
The
commission, in a statement by its spokesman, Ikechukwu
Ani, on Tuesday, also said it had promoted 19 Assistant
Commissioners of Police to the rank of Deputy Commissioners of Police.
They
include Akingbola Olatunji, Isaac Turner, Sadiku Gbenga and
Abraham Ayim.
Twenty
Chief Superintendents of Police were also promoted to the rank of
Assistant Commissioner of Police, with one Superintendent of Police moved
to the rank of CSP.
The
PSC said 100 Assistant Superintendents of Police were promoted to
the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police. They include Atiku Ibrahim
of the Enugu State Police Command.
It
also elevated four Inspectors to the rank of ASP, and
upgraded junior police officers who had been trained as pilots to the
rank of DSP in line with their pilot licence and certificate.
“The
promotion, which has been conveyed to the Inspector-General of Police for
implementation, takes effect from March 18, 2016 except that of the
AIG, whose promotion takes effect from March 23,” the statement said.
