Delta State governor and one-time Senator of Federal Republic of
Nigeria, Felix Olorogun Ibru is dead! Olorogun Felix Ibru The 80-yrs old
business tycoon, was said to have passed on after a brief illness.
He was born on 7 December 1935 at Agbarha-Otor in the Ughelli North local government area of Delta State to Chief Peter Epete Ibru and Chief (Mrs) and attended the prestigous Igbobi College ,Yaba,lagos among many other institutions.
He successfully contested the governorship election in Delta State in
1991, becoming the first democratically elected governor of the state.
In 2003, Ibru who unsuccessfully contested senatorial elections in Bendel State in 1983, was elected into the Senate under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party. He served for only one term.
His death came few years after the death of his elder brother,founder and Publisher of The Guardian Newspaper Alex Ibru
Burial arrangement is yet to be announced by his family
