Emeka Aseme's Body
An army officer has been declared wanted by the Imo State Police Command in connection with the kidnap and murder of one Mr. Emeka Asema, owner of Naija Plaza Hotel, last month.
An officer in the Nigerian Army, who is from Omoku in Rivers State (names withheld), was alleged to be the leader of the gang, that murdered two policemen and the director of Naija Plaza Hotel, Oguta in February.
Briefing journalists at the weekend, the Imo State Commissioner for Police, Musa Katsina, said the suspect had supplied the military uniforms and arms to the arrested suspects who were also wanted for assassination, armed robbery and rape.
According to the police boss, the suspects came in from Rivers State on February 21 to Oguta where they were lodged by one Ifeoma Ukachukwu, a native of Oguta and the girlfriend of Ndidi Okorie, one of the suspects. Miss Ukachukwu, who was alleged to be a drug dealer is believed to have provided information on the victim, sheltered the suspects from February 21 to 24 when they committed the crime.
Katsina said the perpetrators had disguised as military men, shot and abducted Asema on February 24, who they later buried in a shallow grave when he died from gunshot injuries.
He further disclosed that one of the suspects, Ndidi Okorie, was arrested a few hours after the incident through the combined efforts of the Special Ambush Squad, the command intelligence unit and the expanded strategic partners in Rivers State, adding that the information provided by Okorie led to the arrest of the other suspects. Among the suspects paraded by the police were Ndidi Okorie, 35, the principal suspect and a native of Amii, Igbere in Bende Local Council Area of Abia State; Onyemuche Chris Ordukwu, 26, from Obakata Quarters, Omuku of Rivers State; Nze Damian Onyenye, 26, a graduate of Computer Science from the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT), Enugu and a native of Enugu Agu in Oji River, Enugu State; Miss Ifeoma Ukachukwu, 29, Ndidi Okorie’s girlfriend and a native of Ogwuma Village in Oguta Local Council Area of Imo State, as well as Ikechukwu Ossai, 50, also from Oguta Local Council Area.
Two policemen and one Emeka Asema, the managing director of Naija Plaza Hotel, were murdered by kidnappers as they tried to kidnap Asema in Oguta in February. Meanwhile, the Imo State police boss has called on the public to come forward with information that could lead to the arrest of the army officer who is now at large.

  6. Gruesome, their names and faces should be published and announced daily, as most wanted for weeks. To keep their faces n names hidden is obstructiing investigation

  14. My dear brothers and sisters what has fallen over us,we no longer have regard for human life. From d killings up north to the various robberies and killings in the south I am more afraid that we have lost our conscience as a people. Before now the sight of blood gets me nervous but today mutilated bodies, burnt people and corpses are regular sights. What are we chasing that we think will last forever. These culprits are not ghosts they are peoples children, friends, neighbors, siblings etc.
