Prominent Chief Assassinated In Lagos

 
The traditional council of Oba of Lagos Oba Rilwan Akiolu was yesterday thrown into mourning following the assassination of one of its members.
The chief identified as Kayode Adeshina Onimole was allegedly shot dead by some suspected assassins at Lagos Island area of Lagos metropolis.
Lagos police chief Umar Manko, who confirmed the murder of Onimole, said detectives from State Criminal Investigation Department had commenced investigation into the matter.
Manko said the monarch was allegedly shot in his right shoulder by two suspected assassins who walked into his residence at Onimole Court, off Iga-Idungara Street, Lagos Island.
He said one short gun cartridge was recovered at the scene and that the outcome of the command’s investigation may be would be made available to the public.
