That is why we need to move closer to God whenever we see our self getting close to stardom or success. many people have come to his aids to help rehabilitate him, but the problem with drug addiction is that, you must be ready for rehabilitation, and the bulk of the job lies with the addict

The last time I saw Majek was at Fulton street in front of Bisimilahi restaurant, conversing with a pretty lady. Hey Majek how you doing? I ask him, he turn around and look at me with a smiling face and responded, fine, did you remember me at Climax magazine , I asked, he looked a little bit lost, then I remind him of a very fascinating picture, I shot during one of his concert in Lagos. Oh oh yes I remember, he said. Then he turn back to the lady by introducing me as one of the photojournalist back home. Seeing him was in 2010. Today Majek need spiritual help and rehabilitation.

Majek, I know very well, having shared bed and food with him from way before 'Prisoner of Conscience' when we all hangout at Japex Studios, Anthony Village with Ja'Stix in which Majek with Black Rice, George Orwells and Amos McRoy while the likes of Feladey, Fortune Ortega and a whole lot of musicians were always around. I can tell you for a fact that Majek was not smoking the Nigerian National Grass; his only indulgence was a small bottle of Guinness when we are going for a show especially the Sunday afternoon shows opening for Femi at a time Baba was in the big house. Even then he will drink the hot one. Tee Mac Iseli Majek is a great guy, but unfortunately fell into the trap of drugs. Let this be a lesson to all up coming musicians. To much of everything makes you old fast. I am Majek's senior by 10 years and still play 2-3 hour shows, moderation and specially chosen food keeps you young. ( I have not eaten meat in 36 years as an example). Dear CKN and all, I was just imagining how if all of us can do a little more; by getting our selves around Majek. Don't mind the Rasta-dialogue CKN shared with us. My problem though is that his manager and friend I suppose - Black Rice or something may not be telling him the truth, that's if they are not in same shoe. Unfortunately those are the kind of people he trust.

Is there anything wrong in us setting up a foundation for Majek, to first sponsor his rehabilitation, am sure he can get on better, then use whatever remains to readjust his life plan, may be come up with RainMaker Dome, where he will be playing every other weekend and have steady income his way with a grand promise NEVER TO TOUCH DRUGS, no matter how small or little it may look. His asserting to this promise will be of good encouragement for those who want to help truly. May be his Black Rice friend should tell us when his FB comes alive, but before then, bro Rain Maker needs us since our government has refused to recognise talents in Nigerians and what inspiration his rehabilitation will be for the future generation.
